Titan number one gets hit straight in the face and inexplicably does nothing. So it has 6,120 HP and regenerates 684 HP per second without any delay. So it has 12,240 HP and regenerates 612 HP per second after an initial delay of 4 seconds. Haha, using capital letters doesn't make you more correct! Here is step-by-step example of two Titans engaging the Sabre with the 1,668 dps that you mentioned above. But as I initially started by saying I wouldn't just flat go about recommending the FR66 or Palisades as the best S1 shields. Now I know that this is a very simplified fight and there are a lot of other factors to consider, like weapon overclocking etc. We can skew this even further if we instead assume the Sabre is running 4x gimballed S2 badgers at which point 3x Mirage offers 89% reduction. So as I said, unless you need the extra healthpool to survive incoming burst damage then I would prefer the Mirage. Hitting a target every 4 secs is not a hard thing to do, hitting a moving target consecutively for 4secs is If you take the Sabre and add 3x Mirage you are looking at 1026hps per sec.Ĭompare that to a default weapon loadout on a Sabre which sustains around 1668dps and you more or less have a 61,5% flat damage reduction.ģx FR66 and it takes 2,75secs for the Sabre to get one of your shield faces down due to no regen.ģx Palisade 3,56secs for the Sabre to get one of your shield faces down due to no regen.ģx Mirage and it takes 3,57secs for the Sabre to get one of your Shield faces down due to the constant regen. The only fight where I would pick shields with a high healthpool over them would be vs a heavy missile spammer. So the only sensible motivation for Mirage is for stealth purposes, imo.ĭepends on how you look at it. But low systems load isn't an issue with upgraded components. they only really make sense if you are prioritising low systems load or low signature.
To reiterate the point from my first post regarding Mirage, etc. So if you are prioritising regen, then by all means do the math - but if you are losing so much shields in those 4s that Mirage 12% regen advantage makes sense over FR66 200% capacity advantage, then I think you'll lose the dogfight in any case. Palissade has 250% the capacity of Mirage, while Mirage has 200% faster regen. However, consider the rest of the comparison.įR66 has 200% the capacity of Mirage, while Mirage has 12% faster regen. Mirage has no recharge delay while FR66 has 4s and Palissade has 6s. I think you are referring to Mirage - the top such shield. This choice doesn't make sense to me for the reasons given. It takes a stock Sabre 1.83 seconds to wipe a shield face of a Titan with 2 x FR66 and only 1.33 seconds to achieve the same when the Titan has 2 x Mirage. TLDR is - use Mirages as stealth or low power shields - not to boost your regeneration because you lose more in capacity than you can make up for with the slight increase to regeneration. Loledit like above: Math below shows FR66s outperforming Mirages. Personally I'm going to use the 79% faster regen shield in my larger or slower ships where I'll likely be soaking damage during combat, meanwhile I'll be using the 29% higher health shields in my smaller speedier ships where I'll be hit less frequently and may be able to disengage.īut whatever suits you! And remember you can have of each if you're the indecisive kind! :) They differ only in that the FR shields have 79% faster regeneration than the other in each comparison, while the other has 29% more shield health.ĭo with this information what you will, but I found it useful to get a handle on the scope of the trade-off. Unless you're going for low signature or low power draw shields for whatever reason, your choice of optimal shield is always between the military size 1 FR66 or Palissade, size 2 FR76 or Rampart and size 3 FR86 or Parapet.Įach pair have essentially the same power and cooling requirements as well as em signature. May end up making some neat graphs, but in the meantime I just wanted to share this tidbit with you all: and run some multivariate analyses and whatnot. I've been playing round with the stats of ships, guns, shields, etc.
